1. Information We Do Not Collect

VocabPalace does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, address, phone number)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Cookies or tracking pixels
• Browsing history

2. Data Stored on Your Device

All learning progress, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using an SQLite database and UserDefaults. This includes:

• Vocabulary learning progress and word strength levels
• Study streaks, XP, and session history
• A locally generated user ID (a random UUID, never sent to any server)
• Display name and avatar emoji (chosen by you, stored only on-device)
• Notification preferences

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to use the optional email report feature described below.

3. Optional Email Reports

VocabPalace includes an optional feature that lets you send a progress report to a parent or tutor via email. When you use this feature:

• The recipient email address you enter is sent to a server-side function (hosted on Supabase) solely for the purpose of delivering the email.
• The email contains your display name, streak count, XP total, and study day count.
• The email address and report contents are not stored on any server after the email is delivered.
• This feature is entirely optional and never triggered automatically.

4. Text-to-Speech

VocabPalace uses Apple's built-in AVSpeechSynthesizer to pronounce vocabulary words. This processing happens entirely on your device. No audio data is recorded, stored, or transmitted.

5. Push Notifications

VocabPalace can send local push notifications to remind you of your morning and evening study sessions. These notifications are:

• Scheduled and delivered entirely on your device
• Not connected to any remote push notification service
• Fully optional and can be disabled in the app's Profile settings or in iOS Settings

6. No Accounts or Login

VocabPalace does not require or offer user accounts, login, or authentication of any kind. You can start using the app immediately after downloading it.

7. No Third-Party Services

VocabPalace does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social media SDKs. The only network request the app ever makes is the optional email report described in Section 3.

8. Children's Privacy

VocabPalace is designed to be safe for users of all ages. Because the app does not collect any personal information, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. No data about children is collected, stored, or shared.

9. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all your learning progress at any time using the "Reset All Progress" option in the app's Profile tab. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
